Craigies Farm

Discover Life on Scotland’s Farms

On Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 June, Craigie’s Farm Deli and Café in South Queensferry, just outside Edinburgh, will be taking part in Open Farm Sunday (Open Farm Weekend!) 2011 and is inviting YOU to visit the farm to discover more about farming and food.

This year, the theme for the Open Farm Weekend is Discover Life on Britain’s Farms and the day is all about allowing people to visit a farm and see all of the exciting things that farmers do each day - like driving tractors and taking care of animals.

Although open to the public most days of the year, Craigie’s lays on even more excitement for people to enjoy during Open Farm Weekend.

–  When: Saturday 11 June and Sunday 12 June

–  Where: Craigie’s Farm Deli and Cafe, South Queensferry (www.craigies.co.uk)

–  Opening Time: 11am until 3pm

John Sinclair from Craigie’s is inviting everyone to come and see what happens beyond the farm gate. John said:

“We are open to the public every day but Open Farm Weekend is that bit more special.  As well as the usual treats like walks, delicious food, fabulous views and animals to see, we lay on even more exciting activities for people.

“As a farmer, I really enjoy showing people what life is like on the farm and how farmers produce the food that we all eat.

“With two of my own, I also know how much children love to see animals and tractors and so we make sure that the whole family has a fantastic day out, hopefully learning something at the same time.

“As well as activities, we also have a cafe, shop and butchery so you can do some shopping or just sit down and relax with a piece of cake if farm walks aren’t your thing!”
